The best training songs?
Collapse
-
I know it's cliche but Eminem's Til I Collapse.
I just came back from running my sprints and in the middle of a 200m sprint that song came on. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA my 200m sprint turned into 400m! lol
For long distance running or boxing training in the gym I mostly listen to trance music. Just because if I set my mp3 player to my rock or rap section I find myself switching tracks too much as songs that are either too soft, or I'm just not feeling right now come on. with trance I can just set it to play my entire list and not change tracks through my workout.
For sprint work or strength and conditioning seessions I need harder stuff. Alot of the songs on this thread. Or some hardstyle/jumpstyle. Anything with a heavy bassline.

requiem for a dream is good for warming up.
try classical during stretching that also helps to relax not just your muscles but also your mind.

This is what's loaded on my MP3 player when I do running, shadow boxing and skipping rope.
I've "hand-picked" these songs and they're actually a part of my training routine as I run and jump rope to the tempo of the music that plays. These songs won't leave my MP3 player and I will not add anything new without going through my running program. My running coach told me to try it when I run alone. It's a great way to be coached and motivated without a coach and it's a great addition to interval training.

I think music is a perfect tool to use when boxing. To me, boxing is all about rhythm. You just have to use it with caution as you may perform better with music playing in the background at your gym. It may be great when sparring but remember there are no music playing when you're in a real fight. You should not be depended on it, only use it as a tool.
