Steroids in boxing

I am curious as to how many people use steroids in boxing at both amateur and the professional levels. I know Roy Jones was busted but we hardly hear much about that. Do any people you guys train with use steroids openly? or would anyone here admit if they have ever used/currently using steroids and what your take on it is?

anybody that uses roids and competes in the amateurs or pros should be shot in the face and pissed on

Steroids are wrong for two reasons.

1.) It's cheating.
2.) It's counterproductive to boxing or any kind of fighting and is used for bulking muscle up.

If you want to count reason number 3 as negative health effects, throw it in there too.

I dont honestly care about steroids in bodybuilding but boxing as we know people can get hurt. If steroids can make you hit harder and for longer then its not just unfair but dangerous. I wouldn't judge someone personally over steroids but in a combat-related sport sense I wouldn't respect them at all...

the whole point of boxing (to me) is that you test yourself, how strong you are. like it says in my signature, it's about the truth in the ring. you find out who you are, what you're made of and what you can do.

why do we box? we chose not to do a teamsport, but we chose boxing. for me, it is because i'm an introvert, i want to see how much i can do. if i lose, i go back to the gym, to evolve, to progress, to become better.

the best fighters in the world have losses on their records, because they came back from those losses and showed us true greatness.

why am i saying this? if you use steroids, you're already going for an illegal way to win, without trying to push yourself to the limit and leave the fear of losing. you need to be confident in your abilities as a boxer and be fearless. if you do lose, you get back to the gym and you learn, you adapt, you evolve. you get better, stronger, faster. you work on your jab, your timing, your elusiveness, your conditioning.

but don't go for steroids, because then we might as well start using knives in boxing matches. unfair advantage, and you never really conquered the other guy with your own mental and physical abilities.
