You need alot of stamina and explosive power. Do lots of running and body weight exercises. Learning how to skip before you step into a gym isn't a bad idea. Also make sure you have a proper diet. Consider supplements if you havn't already such as protein shakes and vitamins.
The most important thing is not fitness though.. Its your attiude you gotta be willing to train hard and please your trainers.
The first time you step into a gym the trainer will most assess your experience/fitness. Dont expect sparring until awhile and a bout considerably longer so have patience and have fun. Try not to practise boxing fundamentals before entering a gym. It's better to go in with no experience at all than being good at being wrong (lol). You'll be taught the basics at first. A balanced stance, high guard, tucked chin, straight punches and simple combos (1-2 etc).

So, basically what training do you do in a given day?
Skipping, shadow boxing, heavy bag, double end bag, focus mitts, sparring, conditioning stuff.
Just worry about the conditioning first though. Don't start shadow boxing on your own at home or you will pick up bad habits that will be harder to break once you're training at a gym and someone shows you how to do it properly.
