anyone here spar jump rope or do roadwork wearing leg weights??

    A lot of boxers use wrist weights for running. Meldrick Taylor, Floyd and others. I would think its a little safer than leg weights.

      I've considered using ankle weights while sparing to improve agility and stamina.

        ankle weights while sparring improve foot speed..when you take them off after using them for awhile you feel extremly light on your feet

          You also risk doing damage, it doesn't really speed you up in any case, it just slows you down during training. I guess it will work on your endurance but on the flip side the wear and tear on your body will take longer to heal from.

          Only thing I use ankle weights for is to complement general exercise.

            I was thinking of using those when I was in high school and a trainer freaked out and said i could get fluid build up in your knees from those. Id just use the weighted vest.
