Are these gloves any good for full contact sparring?

I bought a couple of pairs of these yesterday.

They are quite cheap so are they any good you think? Does anyone have any experience of these gloves? Why do they say use for light sparring?

What oz did you get?

Most gyms in the UK use at least 16 oz gloves for sparring,the highest those gloves go up to are 12oz.

Ive actually got a pair of those same gloves at 10oz although Ive never used them, they are pretty **** quality, dont fit on your hand properly, and I wouldnt spar in them. I dont even use them for basic training, they are the worst pair of gloves Ive ever bought.

Light sparring might be ok, and by light sparring I mean tapping but they are definately not good for full contact hard sparring.

yes they are good,put them on and start hitting the bag,get them worked in,that is when you will have the best comfortable results,who said to use them only for light sparring,what type of off the wall comment was that for that person to say,when you buy something you do what you want with them,if you hit the bag properly and dont swing wild looping shots the gloves will last a long time

Really? I bought a pair of 10oz large, and a pair of 12oz extra large. I only have small hands so i was shocked i needed to buy extra large! But the extra large seem to be more comfortable.
Was your experience with them really that bad? Why didnt they fit on your hand properly and why cant you use them properly? Is it all down to fit?
I will use them for hitting the focus mitts mostly i think. I wont be doing much sparring, but i wish they could be used for hard sparring just in case.

light sparring because the padding is so soft that if you throw a haymaker youll knock your opponent out because hes gonna feel your knuckles mostly. for light sparring where your hardest punch is a soft jab or something like that they might be ok. they really look more like those cheap kids gloves out there, fitness type gloves. definitely useless for authentic sparring sessions

Thats funny that, when i was boxing they sparred with 14oz gloves. No wonder i was sh_it, scared sparring with there top lt heavyweight... f_ukin ridiculous now that i hear this. Id probably have "learned" more with 16oz gloves punching my face.

I doubt your coach would let you spar with 10oz or 12oz. I have fairly small hands aswell and the 10oz were really tight and uncomfortable, you can tell they are poor quality from the moment you put them on. Hitting focus pads will be alright with them, but Id still get some better quality gloves for general training.

When you start sparring alot Id invest in some more expensive gloves or use the gyms gloves. The gloves Met-Rx posted are good.

Yeah I think they are, I bought the 8oz ones and they were so small I went back and traded for the 10oz, which were also small but just about fit. Either way the gloves suck as do most of the boxing equipment found in general sports stores like sports direct. Online specialist shops are the only place to find good equipment imo.

who is chip,he didnt like them,that does not mean you wont,and i dont know who wrote the link,so i really dont care about what the link says,the usage and longevity of the glove along with the comfort level is entirely up to the user,no member or link is going to persuade me otherwise
