    you can do either way. Inside is more of a rolle than a slip, learn how to do it both ways and use it in fights depending on your opponent and your strenghts.

      personally wouldnt want to throw a left hook upstairs after slipping a straight right. would only go to the body or roll my right shoulder back at the same time slipping to the outside and shooting a left uppercut.

      if you really wanted to throw a left hook coming off a right straight slip i would personally slightly pivot to my left kinda like loading a left hook as the straight is coming at me catch or slap it down with my right hand and immediately shooting a left hook or a check left hook.
