i have the same problem with smokes. mabye you should question how much you wanna box, if its really your love then you should have no problem stopping the smoke on your own. your never gonna be a good fighter if your constantly putting poison into your body.

Yeah, here is a suggestion. Stop smoking!!! Just stop! All the fighters that I have known in my life had one thing in common. They were very strong mentally. I mean come on, it's up early for roadwork, shadowboxing, jump rope, heavy bag, speed bag, sparring. Yeah they loved it, but it still takes immense drive. If you have the drive to want to fight pro, but not to quit something is so bad for you, I think you need to re-visit you're desires.

ok now that we're one the topic of smoking, what about weed? After a good workout and a good meal, the body high I can get from a little bit of weed is intoxicating. Lets compare cigarettes and weed with training...

Seek help, there has to be a formula to your problem, as millions quit each year and lead a much healthier lifestyle.

Just try out different methods for stopping. In the UK we had this thing that helped you if you wanted to stop smoking. It was shaped like a pen (or a cigarette whichever way you look at it) then you smoke those instead. Someone i knew used these and stopped within like 2 months, so these formula's do help a lot. I dunno if you know how it works but basically it gradually brings down your nicottine intake each day until it is so low you dont feel the need to smoke anymore.

That and will-power will get you the results you are looking for. Just think, you will be able to turn pro and wont always have your eye out looking for people from your gym, who might spot you when your smoking. I will never smoke, so i will never be in this situation, but this is all i can suggest.

The only fighter that can smoke and box without much a problem is Mayorga. You just have to have a granite chin and blistering power.

I bet someone DOES know you smoke. You can't smell it but I bet your trainer or sparring partners DO smell that stinkin ass cigaretter smoke from your lungs when you're winded. I smoked a long time and I can smell a smoker from a mile away.

              Now.

Back when I was smoking? I coulda kissed you and not known.

man if you gotta quit 2000 times than do it, eventually your gonna last 7 days and after 7 its all in your head and no longer a physical addiction. after 7 days they taste like **** anyways so just keep tryin man you'll get it eventually if you want it. I found weaning off for a week helped alot. I would go for 2 smokes a day for that week leading up. 2 beats a pack anyday right? if you want it you'l get it man

                    You can stop smoking...

IF you really care about your career you can quit no matter how hard it is, it's like boxing, there ain't no magic pills..

If I know a fighter smokes and he fights me I would make him fight every minute of every round...
