My gym does not, and I'm wondering if anyone here has ever used one and found it to be beneficial. I am considering getting one for home, but of course I wouldn't get any instruction on how to use it at home. Are these beneficial? Should I buy one for my gym so we can all use it, or would it hang in the corner and never get used?

Does your gym have an uppercut bag?

I believe its best you buy it for the gym. Cause you would only have an uppercut bag at your house and no heavy bag? Plus you would be doing a generous thing by sharing that bag amongst potential future champs. But to answer you question, no my gym doesnt have one.

my 'gym' has 3 heavy bags (2 have fallen off) altough our coach is great and boxers that come out of here always win the tournements and stuff

u can do it on the bottom of a focus bag like juan manuel marquez does. or i improvise by using the bottom part of a small heavy bag, although don't hit it too hard.. might twist ur wrist.
the best way to learn uppercuts anyway, is shadowboxing in front of the mirror, sparring (that's the most fun way too) and padwork.
twist your back and hip into the upward motion
push ur weight all into it
another nice one (although other hand should be on the chin, defense)
most beautiful i've ever seen
i know u didn't ask, but i just use visual aids like these, and try to do the technique the same in front of the mirror at the gym.

I've never been one to learn from pictures, or anything other than coaching, but informative nonetheless.
