You looked solid at the beginning. He looked like he out conditioned you more than anything. How often and how much do you run?

      Heres round 2

Don't worry about it, Ian. That guy was a sucker for your jab in the first round and you're right. I've seen you throw much more in sparring fighting much better guys.

This is Bongie from Dreamland, BTW.

If your good at 1-2's stick with the 1-2's but dont just throw 1-2's throw like 1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1-2-2-1-1-2-1-2-1-1-2-2-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-2's

hooks and stuff are good but in an actual fight id imagine you might be alittle nervous throwing hooks, pehaps alittle wary of how your defense stands up while throwing them. Im sure as you spar and fight more often you'll become more comfortable with hooks, combos, and most importantly how your defense is while your throwing them.

Id also recommend you shadow box just like you fight, if you can shadow 3 rounds at the same pace you would like to fight at well then you can more then likely last atleast 2 (i say 2 because your not getting hit shadow boxing)rounds fighting just as strongly as you can last 3 shadow boxing.

No problem, but I'm not from palo alot :P it was just a username I had for so long xD. It's obvious you're more skilled than your opponent just got to get some conditioning in and more experience.

Do you normally spar at that pace? If no that might have something to do with it or just nerves period

Here are a few things I noticed.... you're opponent was a come forward guy and when you threw your jab it made him back up, however, you don't move forward after throwing it so you weren't shifting the momentum in your favor or capitilizing on it so he kept coming. Because you do have a good jab you ought to double up on it and press forward with it. Something that was working well for you that I noticed was when you used your side to side head movement and then dipped at the hips and came up throwing punches you were hitting him everytime. I thought you looked good with great potential... if you work on coming forward with your jab you won't be as tired - because you lose a lot more stamina being constantly pressured backwards than you would coming forward and being the aggressor.
Just my two cents. Best of luck to you.

In training to the fight, almost every day I ran:
1/2 a mile to the track.
                  stretch
4 1/2 miles about 3:10 each with 45 seconds to 1 minute in between
                  stretch
                  1/2 a mile back home

towards the end of the week i wanted to push myself so i wouldnt take a break in between the 1st and 2nd half mile. I would just run a mile, take a break then do my two other halfs. Wednesday I ran a mile in 6:20 and Thursday it was 6:12.
when i started training I was runnign those half miles in 3:45. the goal is to get it to under 3 minutes.

I also ran a half marathon on the Sunday before my fight in 1:47. I really didn't want to since it was not the type of high intensity training that I needed for my fight but I had signed up months ago and had never done one before. Plus I paid like 55 bucks for it..

But yeah, I don't think that's enough. It was major progress (for me) but I'll be in better shape for the next one.

thanks for the tip. and I'm really mad when I see the fight that I wasn't at the very least doubling up the jab.

Try running sprints. 200m's like 5 times.
