I highly doubt it. In amature boxing there are a ton of south paws. Some coaches even teach it because having your strong hand forward in the ams allows you for a very stiff and quick jab, and also a counter right hook.

I fight both ways naturally, but I am mainly right handed. Most of the times opponents don't even realize I have switched until they continue to get tagged with quick right hooks. I am pretty evenly balanced, if anything I do better south paw because of the speed of my right hook. But please, do not ask me to throw a ball or write with my left, cause it isn't going to happen!

Edit: Btw speaking of your avatar, your feet are way to close!

      yup natural lefty
i mean i try to switch stances every once in a while just to get a more natural feel when i switch stances but thats about it, i dont really do it in order to switch my stance permanent, i just dont want it to be a big weakness. sort of what you did i guess

I'm going back to using the peekaboo guard. I was working with a good coach for a few years, who'd trained a few ammy champs but tbh what he was teaching me just doesn't get the best out of me. Now I'm at uni and with a less established coach but tbh he's getting me back into what I was always good at and I can rely more on movement and less on just a heavy right hand.

i change mine sometimes during sparring sometimes for the fun of it, sometimes to try new stuff. i do change my stance A LOT, but not my style. i'm a natural southpaw that was converted since 3 years old to orthodox (due to basketball, not boxing), so i was a mess at first.

i have some balance issues while i'm doing orthodox, but having a lead left hook is a blessing. still, i prefer doing southpaw, since everything i've learned (except writing) has been done with the right hand. plus, my balance and footwork is much more coordinated, so my straight left > straight right
