  • Lazy Fat Butt? to Pro?

I never trained from the age 15 to 18, i basically sat on my arse all those years playing computer games, No exercise what so ever, I use to smoke 20 cigs a day, before that i was a healthy child, So over the years i've put on weight,

Now Recently i've joined a boxing gym, and feel that im holding people back? We went for a run today, and on the 3rd run i basically ran outta fuel and had to walk back to the line, strangers looking at us... when everyone else could of been well on the 4th run, I think our coach only did 3 laps because he seen how unfit i was breathing exc, showing the group up,

I've showed dedication, turning up to every session...

Now is the coach either 2 nice to tell me he doesn't want me training with them or what? Should i quit going boxing, start running, then join at a later date when im fitter? Tbh, the training atm i think is killing my body and doing a damn allot of good, weight should be pouring off soon

Anyway if you've read all this? Care to comment?

Seriously, you need to stick at it. There's no way to improve if you don't, some may understand that and some may not. You're there, likely paying for your membership, so don't worry about them. When I first went into the gym I was coming off ACL surgery and was a solid 30 lbs overweight. Stuck to it though and now I consider myself one of the top dogs. Like the poster above said though, make sure your diet is straight, that will make a HUGE different at how quickly your body will acclamate to the conditioning. Keep doing your best and stay at it.

        ^^^exactly

Don't stress yourself about holding others back, keep at it and results will come. No need to only focus on running, and actually going to train by yourself is a bad idea.

You risk to lose some motivation if you don't have any peers to compare yourself to. I'm sure the trainer noticed your dedication and hey, he could of left you on some bench resting and continue the run.

          stick to it.

don't compare yourelf to others, compare to yourself. to know, each month, that you are better (even if only slightly) is a win.

          don't give up.

Like everyone else has mentioned already, make sure your on a decent diet and keep at it. It'll show that you have heart if you keep trying and don't back down. Also another option would be to join a different boxing gym. At the one I go to we don't do runs together or anything like that. Everything is on the individual. You train as long as you want, nobody tells you to do this or that. It's up to you to put in the work. The trainers will train you though don't get me wrong, but they don't make you do anything, it's all what you want to put into it. You'll get better in no time Flows, just keep at it and don't give up. Trust me, give it 1 or 2 months and you're going to start noticing you are more in shape then when you first started.
