  • Double end bag vs uppercut punchbag

Which equipment is better to increase ur speed in combinations with all kinds of punches?
I reckon the end bag is a bit difficult to do the uppercut though.

Well that's why they make different kinds of bags. Double end is all about timing and technique.

I don't think I have ever seen Tyson train on any kind of bag aside from the conventional and a speed bag and his uppercuts and hooks were nasty. Use what you have to your convenience so you have different forms of training. One may be better for what your looking for but it all contributes to your boxing.

Double end bag can be great for an overall workout, footwork, head and body movement if you set it a bit loose but I wouldn't say it's best for what you're looking for.

You could try one of these though:

I wouldnt advise going hard on a wall mounted bag with straight shots. the bag doesn't move so onnly so much shock gets absorbed before your joints get it

That's true, the biggest downside along with the fact that you won't move much. It's great for mixing it up though since it allows any type of shot you can muster, from what I experienced with one it takes hooks and uppercuts rather well, straight shots are a problem if increasing power.

I was thinking about getting the Teddy Atlas's punching bag but not sure if it lets me use the uppercut on it well, and believe it or not but the 7 is the jab and 1 is the hook!

And about the double end bag, what is the real difference in workout between a heavy endbag then a light one?

I would not suggest getting the Teddy Atlas bag, the combo system might be good i don't know. But i do know that the bag itself is pretty ****ty, its like a huge pillow, not the kind of bag you want for real training.

As for the double end bag it's mostly used for timing, head movement and hand eye coordination. The heavy bag is more for combination work and developping power.
