  • How often can I work the upper Body?

Some dude said only once a week, but that seems like nonsense, after a day or twos rest i feel more than ready to do another intense lifting session.

Be honest, is the once a week thing for sissys, or is there merit to it?

i want to maximise muscle gain and in a fast time, shall i lift more often?

36-72hours is about the average recover time for lifting weights and muscle growth.

dont think i ever heard of anyone ever hitting body parts 3x a week (for weight lifting) but i know that some bodybuilders will hit body parts twice a week and then take 1 day off then repeat.

depending on your weight lifting level it may take some longer to recover but once you have been consistent and not missing workouts then your body can recover faster. If you want to maximize recovery then i would suggest pre and post workout protein and supplementation if you arent doing it already as well as keeping up with your diet. if your going to start hitting muscles groups twice a week then you need to make sure your recovering as fast as possible so you are not counter-productive in your training.

training a body part once a week is to insure maximum recover and growth for the next time you workout and it will be an issue of recovery rather then over training if you start to notice less growth when hitting the same body part more times. as long as your diet is good, your supplementing on top of your diet, you are getting the rest you need every night and your lifting smart and efficiently in the gym then i would suggest no more then twice a week per body part for maximum efficiency

      goodluck
