    Thumbs hurts with right hook

My thumbs sometimes feels like its gonna break when i deliver a right hook, im right handed, anyone else experience the same, what am i doing wrong, i try to hit with my two big knuckels but the only way for me to deliver a pain free right hook is if i hit with my little knuckels so my thumb is futher away but then the hooks isnt as powerfull. I do wear handwraps btw and 16 oz gloves.

are you a right handed southpaw ? or you just throw a right hook while on orthodox stance ? well one problem is that your thumb is injured and needs time to heal ..

Learn to throw a proper hook, ask your trainer. If you hit clean with your knuckles, you won't have this problem.

dont try to punch with your top 2 knuckles. it seems like your landing with your tips, and sometimes your thumb.

You really should be looking to land the middle knuckle.

You may be doing your right hook wrongly. Are you landing with a part of your thumb?

You need to practice and recondition your execution. A trainer may be needed.

I had the same problem with my left hook years ago but I managed to change things with constant practice and hitting mitts.
