  • should i be focusing on loosing weight to cut up or gaining weight

id like to be bigger..muscle wise, but i think due to genetics i cant put any more muscle on.im curently at 138, i was at 150 but i think this was all fat.and not muscle.because i can push more up now than before.altho id like to get bigger i dont think i can, so should i decide to just get cut up now? im scared of loosing any muscle ive built so far.anyone can help me on how i can get cut without loosing any positive gains ive made so far? thanks in advance!!

In matters of bodybuilding I'd take Scooby's advice, he seems to know what he's doing. He covers everything from nutrition to workouts and so on.

Can't post a link but if you google Scooby's workshop you'll get to his site. He also has a Youtube channel.

I can tell you're a kid (lucky little prick )

just do proper bag work, and jump rope..

plyo pushups all you need for strength.

hey dude. if you want to get bigger i sugest getting cut first. but you can deffinatly pack on more muscle after. if you arent gaining you are probably not eating enough or the wrong thing, a bad routine, or not enough sleep. to get big you need a gym realy. pushups can make you strong. what do you have acess to?

That will make you strong and help you build muscle. Its easy and it works

tbh pressups by themselves are a poor way of building strength, and they aren't the muscles you'll be punching with anyway.

for boxing specific add in medicine ball throws, one arm clean&jerk and plenty of heavy bag work.

the best thing to do is to a strength program and lots of cardio. this way you can gain strength AND loose fat. after that lift for size if thats what you want. you CAN do it the other way round but i lifted first and as a result will loose most of the muscle i put on while loosing the fat.

the aim of strength training is not to gain mass, mass just comes as a consequence.. if you want to waste your time and be a bigfornuthin do some bodybuilding

just cause i said the word mass does not mean im trying to work out at golds gym.so relax with the body building comments.im just talking about jumping up to welter from light.

if im currently at 138 with a 19% body fat...im going to work out gettin that % down.but this is going to make me drop some weight.and i really dont want to sit that thin. thats why i was askin if i should focus on gaining now...or after.according from a few people..i should cut up.THAN worry about gaining muscle.not the other way around.

Having a high body fat % won't help you at all in boxing.
