blood clot in the nose

I got hit a couple of weeks ago in my nose and I thought it was clogged with snot or blood after words and immedieately tried to blow it out. After I couldn't, I tried sticking my finger in there and it was swollen inside my nose like a baloon.

I went to the doctor and she said just take some aleve for the anti inflammatory but it's been weeks and it has not gone down at all. The outside of my nose has, but inside my nostril hasn't.

I talked to someone that had the same thing happen to them in the gym and they said after a couple of months he gave up on having the swelling go away and went back to the doctor and ended getting the blood clot drained out.

What do you guys think? Doesn't hurt at all when it gets hit, but it's a pain in the ass to breathe out your mouth all the time.

id go for it. cant hurt ti get it sorted out (unless you live in the us and have to pay for healthcare) cant be good though

I would go have it drained. It's been long enough to let it heal on it's own I think.

When I began boxing, the same EXACT thing happened to me. I tried to let it heal, but it never did. Finally I had to get it removed surgically. it really wasn't THAT bad. They cut it out and let it drain, then I had to had to keep these bandages inside my nose for about a week which had strings coming out of either side so they could pull it out later on. The worst part by far was getting the stuffing removed from my nose. It was horrible, but it felt amazing right after to be able to breathe right for the first time in months. Also since then, my nose hasn't bled once, and I used to get them relatively frequently.
