  • I'v just over trained.

I’ve just been training at the gym for the 2nd time in about 6 weeks (due to work) and my coach still thinks I’m still in top physical shape. We had a very hard 2 hour session. When I got out the gym it felt like I had consumed 20 pints of Stella. I was all over the place, as I just managed to drive home. When I got home I was sick everywhere and felt dizzy also has pins and needles in my face. I drank a cup of hot chocolate with a lot of sugar and also a bar of chocolate. Is this recommended? It did make me feel better. I also put a wet towel on my forehead and on the back of my neck. You think I should calm my training it down a bit? Or just lower the intensity and not do the 30mins run before the 1 hour and a half training session.

    I know what you mean

After a 6 month layoff I've been in the gym everyday for at least 2 hours. Last night I threw up too. All I did was drink tons of water and eat something.

did you have a proper meal or protein drink before you trained?

How does a protein drink have anything to do with feeling like you're gonna pass out?

i think the thought is that it can help maintain insulin/blood sugar levels, which dip low when training hard as you burn off glycogen stores, and can cause light headedness.

I've felt the same before and have thrown up numerous times. By the second time I realized that when this happens it was due to me not eating anything before hand. As soon as I got home I had a big plate of food and suddenly all my symptoms vanished and I'm talking about feeling completely drained, dizzy, weak, throwing up. I'm not saying this is the case but if you've done the same without eating perhaps that is the problem and it's such a simple solution. Hope this helps.

a lot of athletes especially bodybuilders and power lifters for obvious reasons drink protein drinks about 60 minutes before workouts to fuel their workouts because it the best way to fuel muscles especially when they are being taxed. and the obvious is carbs as well.

well techniclly if u want to use the protein as its suppose to b used wich is muscle recovery from tearing...its best to drink the protein no longer than 30min AFTER the workout...jus eat somethan good before no need for a protein shake hell most times those could sour ur stomach...would u drink milk before a super hard workout...and as far as the thread...good god i've def been where u talken bout myself as others here have too
