Me too man, especially when i sparr like **** against lower level fighters. But you have to be positive, the punches you take in sparring are the ones that won't hurt you the day of the fight.

Secondly, you feel like you havent put the effort in? Are you expecting a big fight coming up?
Do you box because you enjoy it? Or because you feel like you need to prove yourself to yourself and others?
If you box because you enjoy it, just keep boxing and having fun, thats when you get better, considering you arent rushed, and your mind is wholly on training.
When I first started, I ******, bad, but I loved the hell out of it, so I kept doing it. A year later, I got pretty darn good without even knowing it. Then a little later then that, I took it seriously, and wanted to be the best, and I kept getting mad at myself, because there were people getting better faster then me, and I kept making little mistakes, and it was at this time I started to hate boxing, because it was a chore and no longer fun, and all my movements were jerky and unfluid. After a good long break (sadly, round 2 years), the fighting bug bit me again, and I knew I just wanted to have fun. Guess what? I started learning again, I got better quicker.
Don't worry about the little physical things. Work hard yes, but the way to look smooth and fluid, is by being smooth and fluid. Relax, enjoy it, otherwise you stop learning, and worst of all, stop enjoying it.
Long story short, dont worry so much, have fun, work hard, play hard, and getting good comes of its own accord.

On days like that I just train as best I can and put it down as an off day, and then the next time I train I try to really push it to compensate.

You have to remember Boxing is alot more mental an physical demanding them team sports, its not easy by any means, you have no one else to rely on or help you score besides your corner, an they're just coaching.
The only thing you can do is train the hardest you can for that day, no matter what, if you feel like **** or not. If you train like ****, how can you be upset, you trained as hard as you could an did all you could possibly do.

often times if u find urself training hard and all of a sudden u feel like ur given 100% but not feeling it at all....u are overtrained...ur muscles are fatigued...take a day or two off and relax let ur mind get back and most importantly ur body back to full function...if one overdoes the training there is a such thing as losing muscle from too much working out
