im an amature boxer myself and have had 2 fights both of which i won, i spar on a regualr basis and i wear contact lenses.
if your that desprate to box, contact leses could be an option,
it would protect your eye from the dry eye lids,
i think you can even get special ones that keep the eyes moist,
i spar all the time with mine in and they very raley come out, if one comes outu just put another one in wen u get home,
even tho u may have perfect vision u may be able to get contact leses which just dont alter your sight at all, just keep ur eyes moist.
some pro boxers even box with contact lenses in,
it sounds a little silly but if u really wanna box then its an option, i do it cos i have to and it hasnt stoped me boxing.
wow never thought of that...that could be a possibility
I have the same problem. I absolutely hate getting hit in the eyes, sometimes I think its just psychological, as it stings more when I think about it. Ive never went blind from it but a few times I was sc****d good in there and really could not continue sparring, it just stung so much I couldnt stop squinting and getting very teary on it.
Hasn't happened recently though, maybe I just havent been tagged good again yet.
Wow bro im actually one who suffers this same fate it happened to me the first time i sparred as well in my left eye... i dont think it was so much a punch that landed on me but moreso the kid hit my guard and i hit my own wye with the palm of my glove whitch was kind of rough... if i were you i would try practicing keeping your hands in an area where places like your palm wont hit your eye... as far as getting punched in the eye and having my cornea scratched it hasnt happened to me and i hope it wont but if it does and i can figure out how to prevent it we can talk... actually you should let me know if you thought up any good methods yourself
