Anyway.. back on topic.

I use the shock doctor with the green gel lining and after about 3 years its almost as good as new, no wear, fits so snugly it could have been made by a dentist.

Obviously everybody has their preferences but for me it is a brilliant less costly alternative.

i've used that one too, and it's pretty darn good for it being a universal fit. you hardly have breathing issues with it, and that's a huge plus in that type of mouthguards

people can afford or can't afford something. being unwilling to buy something isn't the same as "not wanting to afford something"
