well the only other 2 punches left are a jab and a straight and extensions on those 2 punches out range the hook and uppercut so one has to be able to pick up on your opponents rhythm so you can time your jabs and straights. stick and move stick and move eventually he'll get frustrated then you should start cuttin him down with straights to the head and body. i doubt he will have the speed and explosiveness to match even half of what tyson had so long as you have a quick jab and good timing you shouldn't have a problem. also on a side note, if the opportunity shows itself go to the body body body because it will severely slow down head movement if you are effective.

spin him around, turn him and stay out of his range

chances are, if someone uses the peekaboo style, the fighter's short

if he's short and uses that Mike Tyson sort of guard, shoot the uppercut up the middle, just keep doing that, and break him down

I do the Tyson- Patterson style and what really affects me at times are the jab and straight right (CONSTANT ONES). It can disturb my rhythm and I have to resort to starting over. Then if you concentrate on their jab and straight right too much you're going to get hit with them because more then likely you're not bobbing and weaving as much anymore. Which will make you a easy still target in deer lights.

For me personally when someone tries throwing straight rights and jabs I try to time it and go in after that. Then I screw up their rhythm. Enough of that can caution the person throwing the jab and straight. Just like someone with a Tyson style not bobbing and weaving because the punches are messing up their rhythm so their in deer lights. It can be the same way if I get in on someone throwing the jab. When I go in enough they're going to be more hesitant in throwing the straights in fear that I might come in and counter.

          advice

so from my understanding theyve got very good head movement right?? my tips... use your footwork to keep position to throw the jab, this is key to setting up the cross down stairs which will follow it. the plan is that because hes moving his head so much and so fast chances are his body is relatively stationary during these moments so go to the body

also try geting in there with him, he cant use his head movement if your holding him can he?... put him in the corner or ropes and lean against him, then its simple a matter of keeping ur head out of the way, i wud suggest outside his shoulder so that he kant shoulder u in the eye (if u rest ur head beside his above his shoulder) hope this helpt

The usual suggestions in dealing with that Tyson style fighter have already been posted. But, my question to the thread starter is, what is his physical dimension and what is he good at ?

The reason I'm asking is, yes, we're all saying to stick and move, but what if the thread starter himself is not adept at stickin' and movin', then it makes stickin' n' movin' not a good strategy, right ?

The same way you would any other puncher really. You want to keep moving, sticking to your jab and straight right. The jab will stop them from setting to plant their power. Using pivots will help as well. In other words, box.

                From what I posted earlier.

I'm the black guy sparring. I took this last Saturday. This could be a good example.

You're doing well my friend, but seriously, that dude keeps his head up way too high! You could easily drop him, if that were a fight/match.
