I'm just getting into boxing, but have nowhere to hang a heavy bag in my house so got one of these instead

Yes, they are good but a bag with loads of room is better IMO.

I had one of these, I loved it......but it only endured a few months of use. I'm only a light middleweight but within this time the spring broke and the head got decapacitated. I should have checked the warranty!!!

Much better is the Golds gym senior speed ball set, it isn't a wall to ceiling ball but a heavy base connected to a spring supporting a heavy speedball. Check it out. It costs around the same as the punchman. Is much heavier duty, improves reflexes......and mine is just as good as new after a year of use. I got mine from a UK site Sugarays. Well worth a look.
