    To be a coach it is 100% nessicary to have the in-ring expeirance. Hockey or golf coaches areant going to be able to teach anything if they just watched on tv. How can you help a young kid who is nervous before a fight if you have never felt those emotions.
    I disagree mate.

    The head coach at our gym has never boxed. He's been coaching 30 years and really knows his stuff.

      Of course you can. But you really need to get to know the basics and how it's done. Read a lot of tutorials, watch basic boxing movies on youtube. I think you could do just fine. But you won't and shouldn't start training right away. Just observe, and then you can early start holding the pads with a 1-2 combination and so on.

        go to a good club, where the coaches have lots of experience. you want to learn from the best trainers you can find. i learned about coaching from the best club in town, that had a trained an amateur national champion and olympic boxer, now i am a coach. when you have fighters that are motivated it's more fun than anything except ****ing my wife
