sparring is about technique, save the KO shots for the heavybags and the fights. getting beat up to the head in sparring shortens your career, and getting KOd weakens your chin. so going all out in training is just ignorant.

If someone I'm sparring, especially someone bigger than me (as was the case today) is coming after me trying to kill me I'm going to retaliate. Not like I went crazy on him either. I just landed a good shot that put him down. I had no intentions of knocking him out I just seen an opening and threw a punch.

It was so awkward though afterward I was hitting the pads with my trainer and he was just sitting there all depressed while I finished training. I felt pretty bad I'm not gonna lie.

Just be cool with your punching power, and try to out box him next time. You're not always going to KO everyone, unless you're a strong puncher, so my advice is work on your boxing technique. You can always outbox someone if you're good, but you can't knock out everyone. Anyways good for you; that must have given you a confidence booster lol that's crazy. haha. Post your next sparring session with the guy if you can.
I've won fights by knockout before, but I've never landed a punch like I landed on this kid in this sparring session.
My thing is, I'm not aggressive at all. I like to outbox guys. Because I'm always backing up or moving around it gives a lot of people a false sense that I'm weak or something and they think they can walk me down. Then I just land some good shots on them, sometimes they hurt them sometimes they don't. I don't believe I'm a huge puncher by any means but I just land nice counters sometimes that tend to catch my opponents off guard.

[QUOTE=RTS;6862192]lol yea I wish I did too. There was pretty much nobody in the gym neither. Just me, the kid I sparred, my trainer, and some other guy. It was in the morning, most people train at my gym in the night time.[/QUOT
