get a KO or don't whine about losses. Lift weights if you aint a power puncher. easy n simple. amateur 3rd fights is just as much joke as 4rd pro fights, you cant afford to have a slow start. you gotta give it from the bell, so why dont go for a KO?
I mean u cant run outta gas if it's such a short fight, just tag'im. Train for a 12rd fight and feel like a king when stepping in the ring for a 3-4 rd fight

Can't run out of gas? You would be surprised how tired you can get man.

On top of that, that was the worst post I ever read.

you'd be amazed at how fast you gas during a fight, going for the ko is'nt really a great plan either, come out on fire from the first bell but dont go out looking to KO him then get caught with a lucky punch that the other man had no business landing.

go out fast, start the action, press the action, defence on mind and show agressiveness and condition.

However your ideal of training for a 12 round fight is a great purposal as it would make more sense that if you are ready to go 12 rounds you should be able to handle 3

Go for the KO at all costs? See how far that gets you against a decent fighter. You'll end up getting stopped yourself.

Can't run out of gas in a 3 round fight? Yes you damn well can. Doing 3x2 min rounds with a min interval can be as (if not more) taxing than doing 3x800m sprints with a min break inbetween (as an example). It's an anaerobic activity that can mess you up if you aren"t conditioned for it.

If you train for a 12x3 round pro fight, where pacing yourself, wearing the other man down, and employing a long term gameplan are among the main objectives, then step in the ring for a highly paced 3x2min fight where clean punching is pretty much the sole objective, I guarantee you will get your ass whooped by any sort of decent fighter.

            Not it's not, it's a ****** idea because a 3x2min fight requires much different conditioning to a 12x3min fight.

12x3min fights are fought at slower paces (not generally slow, but compared to a 3rd fight they are), and the main objectives in those fights are things like breaking your guy down, employing a gameplan that can be effectively applied for 36 minutes etc. It has burts of activity (anerobic) of course, but that is broken up by lots of clinching, moving around and circling and stuff (aerobic).

A 3x2min fight is mainly anaerobic, lots more burts of activity and less aerobic stuff like resting in clinches, circling without punching etc.

Two completely different energy systems, if you train for one and fight in the other you will get messed up badly.

That's why it defies logic to see amateurs doing long slow roadwork session (they should only be done to keep weight in check), hitting the bag for like 5 minute rounds and stuff like that.
