Great for Explosiveness and Flexibility. I incorporate them into my routine as well.

I have 'em. But, I still don't see how it's so much better than dumbells. Am I any stronger/faster/quicker, etc.. because I train w/ kettlebells, nope.

Kettlebells are more versatile, IMO as opposed to dumbbells in terms of how they can be used. It's a a little harder to do KB swings, Turkish Get-Ups, Windmills, KB Bench Press, Renegade Row etc, with dumbbells

You're right, but, just because a person is using KB's, I don't think it necessarily makes 'em perform better in whatever sport they participate in.

i guess it depends on the individual,i for one feel stronger because i use kettlebells they really have strenghtened my core more than dumbells could have,i even prefer to do squats with them as opposed to a barbell.

Im sure some people still use it, but I think it was more of a trend. My gym started to put some kettle bells out a year ago when there was a buzz about it, then they put them in storage because people stopped using them. I have 2 friends who have their degrees in sports medicine, they went to one of the kettle bell seminars. I think they said it was the russian guy who invented it or made it popular.

One of his quotes they heard was,

"remember, kettle beg equals strength. Strength, equals kettle bell"

Both of them went to a new seminar last month, sandbag workouts. Supposedly its the new kettlebell, and they said they had better workout with it.

Sandbag workouts are good, and it's cheap to make your own sandbag.

The beauty of Kettlebells though are you really don't need very much additional equipment to have a killer workout and get in shape.

There's nothing special about Kettlebells, they're good tools, just like barbells are!

Kettlebells make it easier to do certain movements as already mentioned. If you're looking for core strength and power you can get them with ordinary barbells.

For true I felt fast after using kettlebells, but after using barbells I much stroner and alot more powerful.
