In self defense that is true but meating somebody to fight is NOT defense, it makes you a willing combatant.

A one on one street fight is carnage and it will get ugly and this shouldnt happen, remember this though if your losing the fight hit one of his mates turn it into a free for all and save face but you have to have good mates who will lay down for you. A one and one will always escalate because its never just you and them, what do you think your gonna beat the kid up and he is gonna wanna shake?

Also first punch wins usually among ordinary people and a real fight cant be sustained for more than two minutes, between two grown up people, and someone will always get hurt, so I agree with people who said get it in a ring.
