Most effective fighter is someone who has a good skillset and a good brain (ie: adjusting and figuring people out)

Fast hands, rock hard punches, unorthodox slips and punches from crazy angles get lots of attention- but haven't you noticed that the guys who rely mainly on attributes over technique (like a one shot KO artist always going for the KO, athletic freak like Hamed) always fall down hard vs the smart fighter with the good brain ?

well said, another good example is Tyson vs Lewis. Tyson was headhunting and looking for a big shot. Lewis wore him down, wore him down and end of story

mike tyson was one of a kind though, great fighter

There is no one best style, but the best boxer always seem to be able to do a little bit of everything. Limiting yourself to one particular style is a bad idea as you will come unstuck against someone eventually. That is why it is best to just learn how to do it all.

That is how i would describe my style, I just change it depending on the opponent, and am focused on learning how to better myself.

IMO the most effective style in general is a hybrid of everything, not having any weaknesses and being strong in every aspect and then tilting towards a certain style depending on your opponent. Of course very few can be good at "everything" (only super-solid all around fighter I can think of would be Sugar Ray Robinson) and so for just about everyone they'll have to mold themselves into a style that uses their strengths best. Well, the jack-of-all-trade hybrid is the best only if you're talented, smart and excell masterfully at each style (some do) but some are more average and balanced all around in power/agility/reflexes/smarts etc. and just end up having average or even crappy negative W/L careers.

Execution of that style really comes down to the individual, SRR is the best example of that solid style being meshed with a brilliant boxer.

Sugar was great. It's also great to see La Motta fighting. A chin like no other!
