so i already did some weights but thinking about doing some low reps of high weights.
milk or protein shake?
Here's the thing....protein should be taken within 40 minutes "AFTER" your work out! And also as an in-between "meal", It absorbs into your muscle fibers before your body starts to store it as a complex carbohydrate. If you drink it before bed, you'll wind up pissing out most of the nutrients, filtered out by your liver and kidneys.
Drink water before bed, if you drink anything other than, your body will store it, retain water, and cover up those muscle fibers you worked hard to get!
Slow release protein is good before bed as it helps keep the body anabolic during sleep. Casein protein is good. Milk has casein protein, just not as much obviously.
Anything that is slow digesting .protein shakes are fast digesting an some gets you wired before bed
milk is good except the fat that comes with it .i would go with casein protein for best results,its slow digesting and helps you build muscle in your sleep
Ive been drinking 300ml skimmed milk with 3 tbs skimmed milk powder mixed in for extra protein, i've really noticed an improvement in my muscle repair.
Casien Protein is the best before you sleep,
It realises Protein for upto 8hours as you sleep there is no better...
Take your normal Protein for after workout and Casien before sleep
