Firstly Been feeling unmotivated lately, How do you guys pick yourselves up when you start feeling a little lazy to drag yourself into the gym. I was going 6 days a week but now its like 3. ALso Ive been running far less frequently because my Ipod was stolen and The weather isnt as nice and its been a bummer.
Secondly, Some times i spar with a guy who is MUCH bigger than me, right now I weigh like 145 and im about 5'10 and he Prob weighs between 220 and 240, Hes not like super muscular or anything, hes just very stout and is about 6'1 - 6'2.
I've been boxing for a while longer than him, when we used to spar I throughly dominated him when he was new, lol. now that hes been getting better last week i sparred with him and got wrecked, It was the best bloody nose I've ever had, my coach stopped the fight two minutes in. But yeah. I was given advice that I need to be in and out more. not only does he have a bit of a longer reach that I making it impossible to keep him at distance with my jab but also getting in close is difficult because he distances me, and when i do try he just completely out-muscles me. So, Be more elusive, yes? My leaning and head movement need a lot of work, Need a lot more time on the slip bag. What are your opinions on this?
It wont do me too much harm sparring him more would it? I know this question is asked a lot but should I just stick to people my own weight? I do much better against guys my own size even though the ones my size have much more experience than me.
Thirdly what are your opinions on rear handed hooks? They don't feel right, I'm told just to avoid them a lot of people don't use them, but Tyson did , whenever i see it from anybody it looks sloppy Probably a punch that takes a lot of time before you can do it correctly. My three is fine.
Baiting your opponent to throw, I have a decent stance that's pretty defensive, crouched, weighted arms in, peekaboo. lowing your right to make your opponent throw a one two. Silly idea to hugely parry then to come with a big right? Reckless?
