  • Stairmaster instead of running?

I stopped running and joined Golds gym and do the stairmaster now insted of running and you know what?
I am getting in better shape.
I jump rope first do abs and then do the stairmaster for 30 -60 minutes.
I can monitor my heart rate better on the stairmaster.
    Im getting ripped.
My rope jumping is improving and everything.
    What do you guys think?
I was running 5 1/2 miles 3-4 times a week and was so tired.
I wasnt progressing with my runnning.
When I plateu on this Ill go back to running.
My HEART RATE STAYS AT 150-165 BPM on the starimaster and I lose weight.

I get better results from the elliptical bike, stair climber, and nordic track than runnin. I dunno why, but it works.

Juan Diaz also does the Stairmaster instead of roadwork.

The stairmaster works great, personally I don't use it because I prefer my morning runs. But good for you... keep at it.

I think any and all cardio work can be beneficial, although I like the ones where I am actually outside opposed to indoors. I feel time goes by faster when I'm not stuck running in place or going up the stairs in place.

I do my jump rope routine first and the gym where I work out at....well one of them....they are amazed at how good I am.
There are all these MMA guys there and they are just amazed.
I am almost as good as Mayweather....
I do that ....then abs and then 30-60 minutes of stairmaster and 1 hour on the nordic.
I am going to run again soon.

While some of these machines are okay (I wouldn't recommend it generally) in replacing running, as often they have less impact in the joints, just be careful not to over due them. As in too often, or long, without proper rest days. The repetition has a tendancy to lead to patellar tendonitis.

depends what u wanna do, the elliptical burns more fat because you have move ur arms as well as legs...stairmaster got me in pretty good shape though, it's more like doing sprints
