Which is why you need a low-calorie, slow-burning food for a booster -- like protein with oats.
well for bodybuilding 1 gm per pound seems to be good to aim for, although the most cited scientific studies point to around .7 - .8 grams per pound for athletes. No big difference anyway. Thing that is often ignored here though is lean body mass, ie, if you are carrying alot of fat you will need less per pound of bodyweight than someone (like a boxer) with low bf levels.

Anyway if you weigh 165 pounds and eat 60 grams of protein in every meal or shake, then you only need to eat 2.75 times a day. If you eat 5 or 6 meals a day, which is generally recommended/preferred without going into details why, then you should aim for around 30 gms of protein per meal. Whatever works for you though.

Squatz and oats!!! I have seen this thread a million times as have you all. Worried about additives? realize your liver weighs more than most of the combined additives you will eat (eating for health or training, not micky D's) in years.
Most people you see, probably, have eaten worst s**t today than you or I will in a Month, stop worrying about every little thing in your protein. Unless you have the cash to be that picky. In that case enjoy your flashy life at 110 years old, and laugh over my grave then. Hope you can still get it up!!!

Artificial flavors and sucralose. Count me out.

Sucralose is a chlorinated sugar molecule, which means it's made the same way as most pesticides. It is, essentially, a pesticide; it's just so sweet (600 times sweeter than sugar) that you don't need to consume very much of it at a time.

Sucralose has been linked to kidney and liver problems and an increased risk of seizures, including seizures from head trauma. This especially sucks for a boxer, because damned near EVERY meal replacement powder and protein out there has sucralose in it, and we take a lot of blows to the head and body.

        My shake:

2 scoops Biochem whey protein (Ingredients: whey protein, natural flavors, xanthan gum.)
        2 cups apple juice
        1/4 cup quick oats
        1 cup berries

        Blend until frothy.

330 calories, 60g protein, 10g fiber, plus antioxidants and long-chain carbs.

        And no f-cking sucralose.
Yeah no sucralose, but loaded with ****ing sugar. No better, IMO. There is at least 75g of sugar/carbs in that shake. Have fun with your fat storing, insulin sp!king shake.

and where are your healthy fats?

        My Shake usually consists of

2 Scoops of ON Whey or Beverly Int'l Ultimate Muscle Protein
        1 Banana
        8oz Skim Milk
        Ice Cubes
1 TBSP Natty PB or Flax Oil

              That's my post workout shake.

I'd rather eat a meal than drink an MRP.

But if you guys are looking for a good MRP Shake, try this http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/vpx/zi.html

It's a little on the expensive side, but the ingredient profile is very, very good.

Yeah I was thinking a bit like that with the apple juice added, oats contains fat but not much in 1/4 cup.

My shake is like yours but I used a couple of egg whites and a whole egg, or just the whey, but only one scoop (I am gonna cook my eggs from now on). Only difference with my shake is I add some oats or cornflakes for some complex carbs. How much protein in two scoops of ON whey?

I'm not saying this is the greatest shake of all time, I am simply saying I had excellent results with it and I would expect everyone else would as well if they combine it with a good workout plan and otherwise healthy diet.

For those who are drinking Skim Milk with their shake... give the soy milk a shot, seriously 0 sugar and a lot of fiber. Skim Milk tastes like **** anyway and if you are adding berries or oats for taste you hardly need delcisious milk.

Are you kidding me? Skim Milk tastes like nothing.

There is also Calorie Countdown Milk which has lower calories and pretty much no carbs or Milk Sugars but still the same amount of protein as glass of regular milk
