  • Training as a performance athlete (boxer)

With summer coming up in Australia I've decided to get back in shape. I'm 19, not very tall, around 5'3'' and weigh about 69kg(152 pounds). I have a typical western raised filipino body, stocky build, bit on the chubby side but at the same time muscular, witha ****** booty (no ****, no bias). I worked out alot at the gym when I was around 16-17, around 4-5 times a week, but as I got to the end of high school I stopped excersizing and started binge drinking.

But now I've decided to get in to shape. When I was doing weights at I put on a fair bit of muscle and it's still noticeably there, under the excess fat but I never did any cardio and trained more as a body builder, but now I think I've kinda ruined my body shape as the weight I've gained has covered the bulk of my muscle. I don't wanna train as a body builder, but more as a performance athlete such as sprinters, boxers etc. so what kind of training do you recommend to make my muscles look leaner and not as stocky, whilst also defining and toning. I've started to focus on alot of core excersizes instead of just sit-ups and I'm favouring lesser weight and more reps in my weight excersizes, but is there anything else I can do to reduce the bulky looks in my muscles and make them look leaner or is that just the way my muscles are?

hey richy, stay away from weight training do more exercises like pullups, pushups, dips, abs work and cardio. After two or three months give p90 a shot see how that goes, good luck.
