How will this weight affect my speed?

I have a weight set at home and I'm thinking of using around 50 pound weights. Will this affect my speed in a good way or a bad way? I wanna make my punches faster.

i whouldnt think there are nessicary lot of times people get built up with heavy weights and get stronger but very stiff and slower. i whould just shodowbox with 5s and do alot of speed pad work drills to get your speed up
