    Amateur weight classes CHANGED!

Did this happen everywhere? It did in New England, starting in November..I think.

    The new weight classes are

    108,114,123 ,132, 141, 152, 165, 178 ,201 & 201+

Most of the higher ones are the same but.......I fight at 125!!!!! They got rid of 125!!!! I don't think I can make 123. I'll be moving to 132.

I have a fight tomorrow night, and next Friday in the finals of a tournament. I'm assuming since I started the tournament at 125 they won't change it on me.

There were recent changes in weight, along with length of rounds (ie open class going from 4x2 to 3x3 etc) passed down from AIBA which is a governing body for all amateur orgs. And it is taking a while for everyone to get up to speed it seems.

I noticed that 3x3 minute rounds was becoming a lot more popular, they did it in nationals too. I haven an open class bout tomorrow night, I wonder if that will be the case. I don't like not knowing! lol.

The weight classes I listed will be enforced in the US Championships Regionals over here so I'm assuming they are the same as you advance to Nationals.

I'm very upset about my weight class being exterminated though lol. I have to win this tournament so I will be THE LAST NE 125LB CHAMPION!

yea they combined the first few lighter weight classes... i think partially due to the fact that in the next olympics comming up its a new addition with the women and all.. so i guess for timing reasons... lucky it dont effect me im 132 lol
