what he said and:
sparring- go for a full minute and don't punch. Let ur partner know what you are doing.
Practice with a partner punching at your head. PArry and move your head at the same time.
Shadow box with your coach watching, he should easily be able to recommend arhythm or hint on movements tailored to your style for movememt
I really think shadowboxing and moving your head is the best, I've never understood the purpose of the slip bag. Using head movement on the double end bag is also a pretty good exercise.
I get close enough to the double end bag so it can hit me in the face. I use the slip bag too but the slip bag is kinda slow, but the double end bag comes back pretty fast.
Shadowboxing is probably the best thing if you do not have a coach who will make you do it on the pads. My coach will throw shots without warning in between combos, rather than what some trainers do and tell them when to slip n roll!
I know for sure that good sparring will get your head moving! Try not to parry and block as much and spend a round only defending by movin gout of the way with head and feet. You'll become more slippery then. It is always bettter to make them miss first, and if that doesn't work then block or parry.
