Duno, never had to do one. I'm raging at myself these days, I boxed when I was around 15 for a few years, but I kept leaving cause I had no motivation and no heart. Now I've been going to the gym for a few months and got a decent physique and an excellent level of fitness and I'm too embaressed to show my face in the boxing gym again. That's my sob story. "If you really wanted it you'd go back regardless of losing face" I'm hoping to go to the army and will start boxing there.

i would like to hear your advice about how i should approach the sport.

it's not that i want to turn pro asap, i just prefer the professional style of boxing over amateur,i see from what i said made you think i wanted to turn pro staight away but it's just that i dont really like it, and if i have to go through it i will and i will give it my best.
you have to approach in a way that is comfortable with what you want to do,you have not given a clear defination of your plans

u need to get in the gym asap if u are serious about boxing. im not trying to be mean or anything, but everything u have said shows u have pretty much zero knowledge about boxing. the way to change that is to get in the gym. those sparring sessions with friends are making you a worse boxer. if a trainer hasnt shown u the proper basics u are just creating bad habits.

and dont even think about competing amateur or pro at this stage, everything u have said leads me to belive it will be a loooooong time until u will be ready for that. as of now you seem like some guy who watched a rocky movie and got over excited, get in the gym and see what its really like cuz right now u dont have a clue.
