What was meant from what I said "It can only supplement your abilities if you're training for power." meaning that if you lift for power that can only add to your abilities. I didn't mean if you just train for power all around.

If thats what they meant by shorten muscles then I agree I guess for some cases but that doesn't apply to all people. It varies heavily on the person. I know many beefed up people who walk fine and such. For me, I powerlift, run XC (I find running with friends and under a coach pushes me more and gives me motivation), do my boxing training, etc.

As far as I'm concerned people misuse the term natural weight. Someone's natural weight IMO is what they stay at normally. IMO it should be referred to as a term you used, a fighter's OPTIMAL weight.

I do lift, twice a week and if anything to made me stronger and faster. I see no downside to lifting weights what so ever.

Then again some people automaticaly associate weight lifting with body building. I lift weights for strength only, high weights low reps. Body builders lift in a different way and with a completely different goal in mind, they go for size, not strength.

No No No it really does shorten the muscle making the muscle tighter, and overall restricting your range of motion.

but thats all easily remedied with just a few seconds of stretching.
