Before a fight, i like to carb up several hours before (Usually subway, sometimes pasta), keep sipping water or gatorade, and then have a bit of chocolate before i warm up. Works great, I always feel strong and energetic when i get in there.

Before a training session however, I'm watching my weight usually, even if i dont have to make weight for my next fight, i like to be under 52kg when i fight, till i grow anyway (go to 50 for tournaments) So before training i eat fruit sometimes, natural muesli bars made with nuts and honey, not the **** sugary ones, sometimes low fat noodles, multigrain sandwiches, that sort of thing

          Good or bad?

Sometimes i feel a bit sluggish and eat a mars bars 30 mins before training and am just wondering if this is a bad habit to get into?

Also of doing a long 10 mile + run i stick a mars mini bar in my pocker to eat half way.

          Soooooooooo

          Mars bar good or sh@te ? ? ?

          Thanks in advance fellow posters.

For a snack before training try a flap jack (oat bar) and a decent glucose drink not long before and whilst training like lucozade.
