  • Sparring (Fighting) With 10oz Gloves

Does anyone know of any gyms where they allow low-key boxing with 10oz gloves?

There are places that allow it, but it also depends on who is willing to spar against you with them.

Yeah, I'm hoping to find one. Maybe on the West Coast but Florida could work. Maybe Pennsylvania as well. As to whom it will be against? A low-down, good-for-nothing skag baron named Josh. If he has the huevos.

But also anyone wanting to throw down with sportsmanship and skill. I'm looking for a place where it'd be possible to hold a smoker type event with 10oz gloves. At the gym where I am, it's a no-go. And I imagine the gym owner of any gym might have some reservations about people he or she doesn't know.

Some gyms may make you sign a waiver in the event you get hurt.

Apparently, holding some event like this would be grounds for being removed from USA Boxing. So I'm not sure how I can do this. Oh well. Will have to setup my own ring I guess.

Lol Yeah. I suppose that will have to be the way. I really just wanted to have some rules and make sure sportsmanship is involved. Too many times these types of "fights" end with someone getting frustrated or upset, then going for a takedown. Boxing like this has a way of turning into MMA. I'll have to brainstorm a solution.

Nobody in here has even considered what happens if somebody is sereiously injured.

                Why take the risk?

                16oz are fine for work.............Rockin'

Yeah. Well, I'd have requirements for this to actually become a reality for people, which is:
                  1. No physical health issues
                  2. Must be medically insured
                  3. No more than two minute, four rounds (maybe three minute or six rounds max on special conditions, such as previous experience, etc.)
                  4. Brand new gloves
                  5. Gauze and tape hand wraps according to California commission
                  6. Matchmaking (according to age, weight and skill, with an exception for age in certain situations)
                  7. Referee (to ensure fair play and to stop the fight so there are no heroics if injured).
