I used to make ginger beer all the time but with the alcohol and residual sugar, it was not a very good diet drink.
      Just make the tea instead.

I skip breakfast. I don’t like traditional breakfast foods. Though I make a mean Dutch style pancake, but it’s so good it’s brunch at least. I like to fast until lunch. Sometimes if I workout then lunch is just a protein shake. Sometimes with a bit of simple carbs to replenish glycogen. I don’t like caffeine. Eating right after I wake up makes my stomach unsettle but that’s just me, and I’m sensitive. The one thing a protein shake does for me is curb my appetite for a while. I’m sure that’s not the same for everyone. I don’t think there’s any calories you can ingest that will lead to weight loss unless they have some sort of appetite suppressing factor.

Every time I skip breakfast I end up being A LOT hungrier late at night and I hate to eat anything late at night. That's when I usually fast until morning.

I mean you are not wrong, my temptations come in late at night too. Obviously what you eat will always be more important than when you eat it in the grand scheme. I understand why a lumberjack would want to eat a “lumberjacks breakfast. Eggs. Buttered Toast. Hash. Bacon. Sausage.” Part of it is that it makes you happy, and then you gotta go do a tough dangerous physical job. It’s something to look forward to. But the average person who is not in any high calorie depleting work a meal like that is packing on the weight. Of course some people ( lots of bodybuilders too) enjoy a bowl of oatmeal. Some people need coffee, but cream and sugar ad up. I don’t think I will ever believe that eating anything in the morning will jumpstart your metabolism to the point that it overrides the calories you just ate. Some people need breakfast and I get that. It a sensible breakfast gets you motivated and the energy you need and keeps you from snacking on wired foods then for sure. Some people get low blood sugar too. I’m lucky that I can go a long time without eating and not feel I’ll effects. I have sensitive stomach and digestion. I love food but Zits a fine line for me. I bloat easily too. So maybe not recommended but I actually feel my best on an empty stomach. Nothing to hamper me. I get in my best shape with two protein shakes and one quality meal. There’s usually some milk and hopefully not too many bad snacks in between. If I want to lose weight I have to remove the milk. It’s easy to drink calories, and I’ll drink 2-3L of skim if it’s on hand. Plus where there’s milk there’s cookies.

Now that you bring it up, I bloat easy too. Some milk and cookies bloat me up and I start ripping bombs all night.

Yeah dude. Lose your ability to process milk as we age. Some of the best bodybuilders are the ones that are the best eaters, most tolerant etc. If I get to 200g of protein in a day I could lift a zeppelin.

Im always curious how those pro eaters, guys who weigh like 120-140, can polish off 30 big macs. Usually you have a few fat guys in the competition and they don't come close.

I actually watch a lot of eating challenge you tubers. I love food, and the idea of huge portions. The challenges seem to be a better value than any other option also. I know it would make me so sick though. I had a three egg, three sausage, three pancake, and four pieces of heavily buttered with jam on sour dough toast breakfast last month. I couldn’t finish all the toast. It was my literal limit. I had to get up and walk around in the restaurant and I was in pain for the rest of the day. I think there’s an actual fitness to it. Look up Eric the Electric. He eats an insane amount of calories but he runs and bikes it off. Beard Meats food is another good one. He’s British, likeable and entertaining. He’s small, lean and muscular. He eats clean on off days and lifts, which sets him up for one or two challenges a week. Training to stretch your stomach is part of it. I remember in my youth doing four Big Macs, two large fries, several apple pies, and who knows how much cola in no time at all. I know I could still eat well over a pound of steak in a sitting, but that’s so easy compared to other foods.
