Running Questions for a young amateur

    you cant say, oh look at sprinters then look at marathoners. not how it works. fighters have much different cardio needs than a sprinter. also, marathoners dont look like that b/c of what they do. they look like that b/c of the things they do outside of lsd. they dont train for power and **** with weights. they train to be lean and not carry much weight for their own sport. granted you dont need to run as far as they do, but to say if you run 5 miles a day you will be skinny and emaciated is just wrong.

      I do push myself, but it's just not specific to a fight.

      I'm only doing a long run now 1-2 times per week, to keep my weight in check

        i would spit it up 3 days long runs and 3 days sprints.(sprint run sprint run sprint run) that way u get the best of both without cutting one out as much. and on sprint days just do a mile run.

          you dont need long distance running for amateurs. Ive seen very well conditioned ams that hardly ever run, work on your explosive power and speed.
