I can roll one shoulder forwards and the other backwards at the same time which I practice while shadow boxing on the trampoline.

Usually when I try it, it works, but I'm no good countering off of it so I don't use it much.

Yes i do it's a big part of my game. I watch a lot of tapes of Moore, Toney and Mayweather and i practice it in training and shadow boxing.

It's not easy to learn. It takes time and hard work.

Are you talking about the Dempsey Roll or the Philly Shell? I've heard both called the "shoulder roll." The Dempsey roll is tough, you move in a figure-8 and throw hooks on the upswing, IIRC. I imagine you'd eat a lot of leather getting it right.

I'm a southpaw, so the Philly Shell is a bad idea for me.

haha yeah I suppose, I'm told my style is similar to Cotto's so I don't really use the shoulder roll, I've been watching a lot of tapes of Cotto recently to see what aspects of his game I can use in my own

There was an old schtick that Sammy Davis Jr. used to do on the Dean Martin show. He pretended to be a boxer named "Kid Palomino." He used to say, "I have a perfect record. 0 and 42, all by knockout."

You mean "roll", right? I mean I am not sure that pretending to be a shoulder such a good thing in boxing.

Great great point, I can do the shoulder roll but countering off of it is the hard part.
