  • Interview with Holyfield performance consultant

    https://********/L718x0JnYVU

For those that don't know Dr Michael Yessis he is considered a legendary sport scientist responsible for amongst other things bringing plyometrics to the United States from the Soviet Union where they were first used.

During his day he served as performance consultant to Evander Hoyfield amongst other athletes.

One of the things Yessis brought to the united states is the use of specialised strength exercises specific to sport skills.

You can see Evander Holyfield doing a specialised strength exercise at 3:15 of this video.

Wasn't Holyfield outed for using GH and other things with some busted doctor in Florida?

I loved watching him school the most overrated HW ever. How wrong Mike's fans were when they thought the absolute schooling that Douglas gave him before Bustering him up was a one-off. Holyfield was about 17 levels above Mike. He loves answering the phone as well. You gotta respect Evan Fields.

The Soviet Union was big on PED use.

Roy Jones does not like that kind of talk about his country.

Tyson was literally a coke addict who didn’t train. If you don’t understand why people hype Tyson or understand his story just say that

I do understand why people hype Tyson. It's because they thought he was going to be amazing and unbeatable, and when it turned out that he was just a good fighter, they couldn't accept it, so here come more excuses than even Deontay Wilder could think of.

He came along at the right time, was matched against suitable opposition. His best wins were against a terrified light HW, and Larry Holmes, who came into the fight fresh off two losses in a row. He beat some decent B/C level guys, then ran into Douglas, who was not scared of him, and had a tool, a good (not great jab) and that was all he really needed to beat the limited Tyson.

Tyson, not being able to get inside the jab, got more frustrated with each round, losing every round, except the one he won 10-8, before the going got too tough for him, and he was done. Holyfield was levels above him in both fights, and whilst he had seen better days in his loss to Lewis, it was still clear to see that he could never have dealt with the skillset of Lewis.

A lot of people were living through Tyson, and when it went wrong for him, it went wrong for them. Many are still living in denial about it all today. Nash out.
