I've gained weight for a role before. It's not fun. First of all, if your normal mindset is to try to stay lean and healthy it is a bit of a challenge to alter your perspective. But by far the most difficult thing about getting fat for a role is the time pressure. If someone told you to gain 30lbs, but to take as much time as you need... well, that would be very easy. But in my case--as is true in most cases--I had a very limited amount of time in which to pack on the flab. That caused me to forcefeed myself, which was extremely uncomfortable.

So you said it, being told you need to transform your physique under a squashed time line would be a nightmare. Force feeding is something I’ve never been able or willing to do. What if you did add all the weight and the show got cancelled? I hope you managed to get the weight back off.

No way he can come out muscular eating at that pace no matter how hard he works out. He is going to be fat.
