  • Help with my endurance.

Well, I went to train yesterday and since I've just started up boxing again, my endurance is horrible. Too much junk food and video games. So The first thing I did was stretch, followed by 10-20 minutes of shadow boxing. Then he had me work the heavy bag for 6-7 rounds, 3 minutes, 30 seconds rest periods. That killed me, my arms felt like jello. Then we had to hit 50-60 slow up... down.. push ups. I couldn't even finish. Around 20 I could even stand on my arms. I may have took it to rapid on the heavy bag, ignoring my tiredness to not look like an idiot. But I ended up looking like one anyway when it can to the push ups, I'd just drop, and couldn't do it. Does anyone have ANY tips on how to keep up? He treats me like I've been boxing this whole time.. I guess it's good, but I'd still like some tips.

    Thanks.

Well it's not exactly my first time. I was boxing for about 6 months, I'd say 1.5-2 years ago and switched to BJJ and Muay Thai for a few months at this local MMA gym. but I had a 5 month break in between the MMA and Boxing again. So I'm all out of shape from sitting around and eating bad. He thinks I still have my endurance up I guess. He'll probably keep pushing me seeing that it's the same coach... i don't want to complain or anything because I'm not that type of guy, so I'll just roll with it. I just need a fast way to get my endurance up. Like a workout routine at home.

Okay really the best way to up your endurance is to keep at it. The only way you're gonna get used to that kind of work out is if you keep doing it. In the meantime, rest. You can run. That will help your legs, but overall just keep doing it and you'll get used to that kind of work out.

go for a run every other day, it builds stamina and heart. try to work out longer each day, like 5 min more each time.
