  • I cant decide which glove to buy????

Am having trouble deciding which glove would be best for me between these two. Ringside's IMF and Everlast Protex 2 training gloves, since they are both recommended by many in here. Both are around $100 and I got about 120 to spend so I'm covered.

Am going to be using it for the Bagz and Mitt Work, since my Coach already provides the sparring gloves. Here's what I look for in a glove.
    • Good Padding to protect my knuckles and able to practice my power shots on the heavy bag without worrying about messing up my hands.(Makes a good snap when I jab the bag, since my RS pro fight gloves dont.)
    • Good Leather, not cheap or fake leather.
    • Good Wrist Support(hence why am going for a lace up glove.)
    • Durable for at least 4-6months.
    • Lastly, a Glove that secures my thumb and doesn't bother it when I hit the bag(Like the Pro Ringside Fight Glove, that **** hurts my thumb like a b1tch!)

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Between those two I'd go with the IMF's. Protex are good when you go up to the 3's, which are about a bill more. I know you've narrowed it down to those two, but have you ever looked into Shevlin's? $120 is what it would cost for some great quality gloves perfect for mitt/bag work, etc. Customizable too.

      Sweet, thx.

I've looked into the Shevlins, problem is that I could use some by this week, and am looking to get 2 day shipping on one of these for quick delivery. The Customizable option is tempting tough.

I would go with Imf, overall good hand protection. but those protex 2's i wanted but i changed my mind, everlast doesnt even call them pro gloves there "elite". Might want to look at everlast pro training gloves.

edit realized you didnt want them for sparring.

Why do they need to be "pro" to be of good use?

            Sweet man!

I went to my gym today(no one sports the IMF yet) and I asked my coach which glove he would recommend, says that RingSide IMF is the best one yet.

And my coach provides some sparring gloves already. OldSchool RingSide 16oz gloves.

            Just need these for training.

I'm going to wait a while and see if anyone has any input on the EVerlast ones till I make my decision.

I was referring to the post above me saying that "everlast doesn't even call them pro gloves but elite gloves."

                oh, lol.

I think he meant the pro gloves for sparring.

we will see what he meant once he logs back on.

                what gloves you use kid?

                if you dont mind?

I would go with the IMF Techs. I've been using them for a few months and i can't imagine a better glove for the price.

My first gloves that I ever got were Ringside Gym Training Gloves ( http://www.ringside.com/prodinfo.asp?number=GRP%20E ). These gloves were great, the inside was like satin it was amazingly comfortable. The padding was soft so you don't have to worry about your partner getting mad at you. Makes me want to buy another pair of Ringside gloves that are either hook and loop or lace up. My only problem is that the elastic strap that acts as the closure system makes it hard to put back on if you take em off during trainning. The sweat in the glove/hand and *********** of your hand makes it pain and almost impossible without someone to help you lol.

My second pair were Everlast Protex2 Hook and Loop ( http://store.titleboxing.com/everlas...yl-gloves.html ). I really bought em for my dad who is also into Combat Sports, he hasn't used them yet but I have em :P. Pretty good I guess, comfortable interior. Been punched with em and it didn't feel too bad. Closing system stayed on pretty tight.

My third pair that I got were the Fighting Sports Pro Training Gloves ( http://store.titleboxing.com/fightin...s-elastic.html ). From what I can tell its not that similar to Winning but that does not mean its not a great a glove. Its well made and comfortable in the inside. The padding is pretty soft, again I don't feel you have to worry about your partner.

I recently won a $200 pair of Everlast Protex3 Training Gloves . I'm not sure if they are these: http://store.titleboxing.com/everlas...ng-gloves.html or http://www.ringside.com/prodinfo.asp?number=EVPXSGV%203 . I hope its the ones that are in the ringside link because I like how the closure system looks compared to the one on title's site. I'll let you know how the gloves are either on Wednesday or Thursday which is when the Everlast lady said I'd get em .
                    That's nice man.

                    Your have some sweet gloves.

Please do let me know when you get them Protex3 gloves.

And how you win them? in a tourney event?
