Here's the headgear most of my guys at my gym wear to spar and I actually bought one as well to spar with. It's the competition headgear you get from Ringside.com.

OK, I have worn a lot of headgear in my life time, all kinds of name brands. I have to say this is very good headgear. It's made with top quality stitiching and craftsmanship and gives you good padding. I got the one with the cheeks, just to give me a little more protection.
It has a lace tie on the toop for head adjustment and a velcro strap in the back for adjustment there. The thing I like about the velcro strap in the back is, it's a double velcro strp. One on the inside and one on the outside so you can really custom fit it to your head. You can also get it in a bunch of colors and even in the American and Mexican flag if you wanted to, I got the plain black.
The vision is very good when you spar but for those of you that like a full face protection, it's not for you. It does leave the middle of your face exposed, mouth and nose mostly. I already got my mouth split wide open and a nice nose shot about 2 weeks ago but that goes with the territory of sparring. Good quality though, good price and recommended for guys wanting to get some good headgear at a good price. 8.5 out of 10.

One of my guys ordered this headgear through titleboxing.com. It's your basic headgear with cheek protectors, here's the link:

First thing you notice is the quality, it's not bad. It's seems well made but a bit "old school". Reminds me of the type of headgear I used to spar with when I first started boxing (Don't ask it was a long time ago so *** off with the old man comments)
It has no velcro straps, it's all tie strings. Which is fine, I don't mind that but you have to make sure you get the right size and make sure you take the time to fit it properly to the size of your head.
The face of it is wide open, even with the "cheek" protectors. Your whole nose, eyes and mouth are exposed. It does offer a big protection for the front of the head but since that is the hardest part of your head, it didn't make much sense to me to behonest with you.
It has good padding but the padding is a little harder than you will find with most headgear. It is leather and for the $39.00 price tag is good for someone looking for something a little less expensive.
I give it a 7 out of 10.
