I have 3 days until my first amateur fight.....preperations?

Its thursday and the fight is on sunday night.
What do you usually do in the final week of your training camp?

I was thinking of doing some weight training today and have friday and saturday off, would this be appropriate?
My last boxing workout was on the wednesday

Weights could lead to injury or you not being 100% on the night, I wouldnt risk it.

Why not shadowbox and spend a lot of time stretching? Maybe do a few rounds on the bag?

At this stage you just want to tighten up your work, if you really feel the need to work at something, maybe some pressups and chins just to keep your strength up?

I've always been told not to do a single thing to the point of fatigue - especially in the last 4-5 days.

If you pull something in your shoulder, thigh, back now then it will screw you.

      DON't overdo anything.

I don't know why but I like to do ropes on the days before fights...it relaxes me somewhat and I feel like it keeps me loose and bouncy.

Yeah, get your head straightened out. It's all mental. Relax mentally, so you can relax physically. Don't worry so much about winning or losing, rather focusing on your opponent and doing what you have to do.

It's going to be uncomfortable in there (i don't know how well you prepared), but stick to the game plan, don't panic, relax, and have fun.

It's showtime!! Go in there and show off to the crowd all the hard work that you put in. Good Luck.

This is the time if you know anything about your opponent you go over that stuff and concentrate on your weaknesses.

just move around shadow boxing and such, dont just lay around dormant until fight night.

also try this, when your laying down to sleep envision what you want to do in that ring. picture the fight unfolding and how you'll react and work in there.

most of all, just stay mentally relaxed...............Rockin'

Start to relax mentally, visualise how you wanna do in the fight as you go to bed but dont overdo it. Just do a bit of sharp, fast shadowboxing (4-6 2 min rounds) and some sharp fast short sessions of pads if you can

and have the day before the fight off

and remember, no matter how nervous you are, he's just as nervous, remember that

I'd think the most important thing is not letting the anxiety keep you up at night. if it does, I'd take a unisom or etc unless the fight was early in the morning. make sure you get a great night's rest..
