how do you guys recover from a injured wrist? my right wrist has been damaged for months now, to the point where I can't even use my right hook any more, even going through the motion in shadowboxing hurts. I been taking it easy with the right hand but its been almost 3 months since my injury, and every time I think my right hand has healed, the sharp pain surges back when ever I put some power into the right hook.

I don't want to end up like malinnagie, unable to use his power hand.

you need to get that checked out by a doctor before proceeding any further and causing permenant damage.

I made a similar thread a few weeks back. I went to see a doc, in my case it's a sprain wrist. He told me to not do anything thats hurts until the pain is completely gone. I haven't done any bag work in 3 weeks and it's much better. though today i just visited the gym even though i'm off for the summer and i did a couple rounds of padwork.

It was fine while a was doing it but i hurts a little now. So i guess it's not completely healed.

I know it's hard to not train, i feel that myself but training with that kind of injury will either make it stay or even make it worst.

I got myself a wrist brace at the drug store, it didn't do **** for me but it may help you.

have them put a bunch of metal **** in your hand so you'll be a badass like fedor.

Seriously, though, there's no easy answer. Rocky Marciano broke his hand a bunch, eventually I think they just taped the living **** out of it every time he trained or fought. That's pretty foolproof I think.

You can also consider not throwing right hooks anymore. Sounds kind of dumb, but who knows, maybe it'll make you better instead of worse. Worth considering imo.

I got the same in my case I've learned to deal with the pain. Funny thing is when I spar it doesn't hurt, not sure if its adrenaline but when I hit the bag with hard body shots it hurts. Like someone said, get that looked at.

same here, I think its because of the 16oz gloves, also when I land body shots on a guy its usually softer then the heavy bag.
